Drawn eBook Chris Ledbetter

What if you really like a girl--a lot? And what if your art teacher, who you respect greatly, dies and leaves you with a sketchbook? And what if you draw that girl you "like" into that book? Sounds like nothing very unusual should happen. But because these events occur in Drawn, they suddenly become extraordinary, and you're in for some surprises.

What begins as a story about young infatuation and a budding artist, who also games with his friends, suddenly transforms into a fantastic journey in a land called Terra Sempre. The adventure doesn't end until "the end," and still there's more to come in the sequel, Inked.

I liked the authentic dialog between Giovane and his buds. It immediately characterizes each one. I also enjoyed how the gammer strategy was employed in the quest to capture the king. Seeing the three gamers working together as a team to achieve a goal, made the plot very believable.

A tribute to this story is that, while I'm not a great fan of YA fantasy, I enjoyed reading this one, and I would recommend it to those who appreciate good world building and strong characterization.

Drawn eBook Chris Ledbetter Reviews

DRAWN is one of the most unique books I've ever read, and that's saying a lot because I read constantly. The plot keeps the pages turning and the main characters, Cameron and Farrah, are worth rooting for.
After reading "Drawn" by Chris Ledbetter, the one word that best describes my impression of this novel is CAPTIVATING. It took me on an exciting adventure that left me thinking, "Wow! Well done." The manner in which the author was able to clearly define his setting, characters, scenes, conflicts, relationships, plot, and ultimate outcome was amazing to me. I did not have to struggle to understand the structure of this novel nor its meaning. It played like a movie in my mind. It is obvious to me, and apparently others, that the author has a gift for novel writing.
This was a surprising story that blends otherworld fantasy with militaristic gaming. When Cameron accidently draws the girl he likes into a magical book, her spirit is transported to another world. Now it's up to him and his gaming team to save her before her body dies. My only criticism was the level of longing the main character had for a girl who barely knew he existed. But the plot and characters make up for that. I recommend the book
I totally want one of these sketchbooks that make things come to life…er, on second thought, maybe I don’t. Not after seeing what the main character went through. LOL I really liked the action and snappy (funny!) dialogue in this book. The pace and storyline kept me reading, and the alternate world was fascinating. If you want a light, fun book with lots of action and unpredictability (especially in the last half of the book), give DRAWN a read!
I've had the opportunity to read this debut novel from Christopher Ledbetter. The pacing is perfect.. I couldn't put it down. The characters were real and relatable.

With such an original concept and mixing elements, the interweaving of real and fantasy worlds seems like a difficult task to master. In this story the elements are sewn seamlessly.

Cameron is a deep and likable protagonist. His crush Farrah is the driving force behind most of Cameron's actions. One character, Vittoria, has left me intrigued. Her underlying soul balances between good and evil and it seems she can teeter to either side. At the end of this story, I'm still waiting to see where Vittoria lands. It's one of the elements that has me anxiously awaiting a sequel.

Ledbetter delivers his original story well.
Drawn is a beautifully written novel about love and survival in a totally foreign universe, the world where art and character drawings live.

The details the author describes blew me away.

When the main character, Cameron, accidentally sends the essence of a girl he admires to this universe, he draws himself into it to rescue her. The clock is ticking. If he doesn't find her soon, her essence will remain in the art world forever while her human body in this world, dies.

It's an amazing story full of action and intrigue.
Drawn drew me in and kept me turning the page until the end!

In a well-paced, well written debut YA novel, Christopher Ledbetter shows us that love stories don’t need vampires, witches, werewolves or zombies to be thrilling. It’s also refreshing to have a love story where the main character (Cameron) is male, and endearing, and sympathetic, and head-over-heals in lover with a girl he can’t have.

This book is for everyone who loves YA, fantasy, love stories, coming of age stories, thrillers, romantic suspense, David and Goliath stories, art and drawing, and basically just about everyone.

Time reading Drawn is time well spent! You will definitely want to read more about Cameron and his world when you are done. Get on it Christopher Ledbetter! We need more!
