'We all have secrets. Some are just buried deeper than others. But they're there - hidden deep within. Mine I bury in that little red box people call a heart. Sometimes I wonder if I have a heart at all, for if I did I surely wouldn't do the things I've done'

Holy s**t that was intense. Just .... WOW!!
5 stars? Really?? That's all I can give?!?? Not enough, nowhere near enough. I devoured this book. From page one it held me in it's grasp & I could NOT put it down. Mysterious & intriguing, smokin-hott & sexy as hell, completely bloody enthralling.
So. Damn. Amazing.
Considering the context of the story, I really shouldn't have enjoyed it as much as I did, but boy did I ever & I don't feel the least but guilty about it either!!

'That's just the burn of deceit raging across my skin like a plague'

Bailey is living a lie. She has so many secrets buried inside she sometimes fears they will just burst out at any moment. No one knows the real her, they only know what she wants them to believe. Not even her fiancé Carron truly knows her, and that's just how she wants it. Carron loves her, she knows that, he brings her comfort & she does care for him - he's her security blanket. But her heart always has & always will belong to another.

'Someday soon I'm sure he's going to kick my miserable a** to the curb. In the meantime, I'm going to avoid the truth and take advantage of his kindness, keeping him here as long as he will stay'

There is only one man who knows everything about her, returns her love fiercely, but he is the one man she can never freely be with - her Angel.

'No one will know the real me.
No one will know that I have been willingly ruined by Angel.'

They can never be together, but they cannot stay apart either. No matter how wrong it is, they always find themselves sneaking off & hooking up.

'I only want him. No, that's not even right.
I need him. I need Angel.'

But it always end the same, he pushes her away because being together is wrong in so many ways, she slinks back to Carron & the guilt sets in .... But they can never stay away long, the pull is too strong. Til Angel has had enough of hiding. He wants Bailey, all of her, all the time, consequences be damned.
He will have her.

"I still want, desire and need you. F*** him off, I can't stand the thought of his paws on you a minute longer. We need to be together. Tell me what I need to do to make it happen."

We spend so much time questioning just who the hell Angel is & WHY is it so wrong for them to be together. I'll admit, I kinda had it worked out, I had some very strong suspensions anyway. The way the truth was eventually revealed was shocking to say the least, and then everything blows up. I spent the last part of the book damn near hyperventilating. Hell, the last few pages of the last chapter left me sobbing, big fat ugly tears, I was in hysterics. All that was left was the epilogue, but I didn't know if I could finish it. I had to take 5 & calm down before I soldiered on, but I am sooo glad I did ;)
Incredible book, I highly & loudly recommend it!!

'Angel ruined me for any other man and being with him is exactly where I'm supposed to be in the world.'

Ruined eBook Shelly Pratt Reviews

We all have secrets. Some are just buried deeper than others. But they’re there – hidden deep within. Mine I bury in that little red box people call a heart. Sometimes I wonder if I have a heart at all, for if I did I surely wouldn’t do the things I’ve done.

This is the story of Bailey Michaels and her secret that burns deep into her soul, wanting desperately to find a way out but will it?

I found it hard to put this book down as I kept wanting/needing to know who Angel was. Throughout the book you get hints of who he might be and in some ways it was a bit predictable but until the end you are never 100% sure which kept me intrigued with the story. I felt very badly for Carron, the fiance, who is so in love with Bailey and would do anything for her but in the end discovers her secret will not allow him to win her heart and lets her go.

Although I enjoyed the story, there were some things about the book that bothered me. It seemed like Angel should have lived in a nearby town as he just seemed to appear from time to time out of the blue only to disappear. But as we learn he lives in another state, it just didn’t make much sense. Also, some of the references were English and since they are American I felt that the author was having a hard time with the cultural differences. Not a deal breaker for me just something that I noticed.

Drink of Choice Red Wine
Bailey is engaged to a wonderful man Carron who truly loves her, but she suffers from still being in love with a man she calls Angel. Through the book you get some memories of how she developed her love for Angel and her inability to fully commit her love for Carron. Through the book, you wonder why she's so obsessed with Angel and who he is especially when she has a great guy in front of her. When you find out who he really is, it's kind of a shock. Quite a plot twist. I certainly didn't guess it. So in that respect, the plot was unique, but I didn't care for it. Through most of the book, I honestly thought Angel was a hallucination. I didn't like the woe-is-me attitude of Bailey. I think the author wanted the reader to feel bad for Bailey, but I just couldn't. I didn't like her and her cheating behind her fiance. I didn't like how she was so dishonest in her relationship with Carron. Overall, the book was okay because it was a fast, easy read, and a unique plot twist.
That's right. What the effity eff eff. It's hard to even write a review for this without giving anything away.

The more I think about it, the more I like this book. This author took a real chance with this story and its extremely unfortunate that some people can't appreciate that. With that being said, I declare 5 solid stars for this review.

I'll say this, it's about an engaged couple. The girl, bailey, is having a secret affair with her first and only true love. Her secret lover, angel, can't come to terms with their relationship, always sayin that they could never truly be together.

So the book unravels baileys secrets and the more you learn, the more f'd up the story gets. Holy crow.

The mystery of the book is super interesting and keeps you wanting more but I have to say that I got sorta confused in a few areas. I think it's partially due to the fact that I would start to rush through it because I thought the big secret was about to be revealed!!!!!

It really is a crazy awesome story
